Youth Murrindindi (YOUTHIndi) launched

Posted 24 June 2010 by Sean Fishlock (Datalink)

We recently launched Youth Murrindindi (www.youthmurrindindi.com) which was well received by young people such that the Kinglake Ranges News covered both the launch and also the result of the logo competition

The new website can be seen below:

The new website is the result of the hard work of Rani and Stewart of Murrindindi Shire and the Datalink team including information architect Scott Davey and programmer Jenny Joseph.

Using Datalink's Youth Portal software, the site has interactive features including polls, blogs, news, content slider, events calendar, photo galleries, games, videos, social media (Facebook, MySpace), forms as well as allowing young people to personalise the site.

Youth Services did not have a brand for the website, so we suggested a logo competition to increase involvement.  The competition was very successful, receiving at least a dozen entries from local young people.

I was there at the launch and it was really great to get such positive feedback from the young people involved.

Murrindindi is located in the north-eastern part of the Victoria with a population of 13,672 people it includes the towns of Alexandra, Eildon, Kinglake and Yea.
