Responsive Web Design

Posted 28 June 2011 by Sean Fishlock (Datalink)

Over the last year or so, we've been preaching the philosophy of responsive web design, a strategy in web design, particularly to better embrace mobile technologies like the iPad and iPhone.  For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, check out these posts from A List Apart and Zeldman.com.

Well we decided to practice what we preach and following the launch of several responsively designed customer websites we have recently launched a responsive web designed "2.0" version of our very own website.

Using the new tools of CSS3 and HTML5 and better integrating social media, our designer has come up with a site that is scalable and highly usable across the major mobile platforms as well as major web browsers.  No small achievement.

To see what we mean, check out the grabs below from iPhone and iPad.
